Nokia introduced the new Windows Phone series. Labeled Lumia, two series became mascot; Nokia Nokia Lumia Lumia800 and 710
Nokia Lumia 800 at first glance looks similar to the N9, basic Color Cyan, magenta and black. 3.7-inch AMOLED touch screenthat has been equipped with Clear Black fused with the body. Equipped with one-touch key to social networking.
Ease group contacts and communications, and Internet Explorer9. Feels smooth performance with support for 1.4 GHz processor.
Carl Zeiss lens on the camera produces HD quality photos and video, and of course with ease when sharing photos and videos to social networking.
16GB of internal memory can hold photos and music, plus 25 GB of storage on Sky Drive
Unique apps on the Lumia are limited; Nokia Drive offers a decent satnav alternative, but so do iOS apps and so does Google Maps on any Android phone. A Music app provides pre-arranged playlists, for people who would like a radio substitute. Elsewhere, of course, other Windows Phone apps can be downloaded from the main Microsoft Marketplace.
To differentiate from other Windows Phone devices, Nokia offers Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps. Other manufacturers will get Nokia Maps, but Drive will be exclusive to Nokia devices. Maps is currently in beta and the two aren’t closely integrated yet. For example, if I search on Nokia Maps, I don’t have the option to use Nokia Drive to navigate to the place. At their current state, Drive and Maps are snappy. We haven’t experienced slowdowns or lags when zooming or panning through the maps. GPS locks are quick too. The Nokia Lumia 800 finds my location within seconds. The voice navigation on Nokia Drive does not tell you the street names when turning, but we were told this feature will be added in an update. Not bad for a free service!
